TIGERSECU 1080P WiFi Security Camera System Review
Here we have yet another affordable surveillance system being sold on Amazon. This TIGERSECU 1080P WiFi security camera system comes with some nice features for a reasonable price but is 1080p good enough in 2023?
According to the Amazon listing Tigersecu has been in the security business for 20 years and they are promising lifetime support and 2 years warranty. I can’t say I’ve heard of them before though. Anyway this camera system comes with 4 bullet WiFi IP cameras that uses a 2mp sensor and records in 1080p. It uses a 3.6mm lens which should give you a decent viewing angle.
The NVR has 8 channels and each camera uses one channel so you can add another 4 cameras if you want. And the cameras are connected using WiFi to the NVR but they still need power so its not a wire-free system. And it works without internet but for remote viewing and to get push notifications on your smartphone you need to connect the NVR to your router.
The pre-installed 1TB hard drive should give you about 16 days of continuous local recording on 8 channels. You can use an App called Tuya, to get push notifications when motion is detected or watch live view and playbacks. It requires internet though and can be viewed from anywhere. You don’t need to sign up for a monthly cloud subscription to use the App.
A nice feature is that the cameras support smart motion detection, which means they can tell the difference between a human and other moving objects. You can set an alarm siren as well when motion is detected. They also supports 2-way audio so you can talk and listen through the cameras.
You can use the cameras outdoors since they are weatherproof with a IP66 rating.
I read some reviews on Amazon and it seems like people overall think its a great surveillance system for the money. Of course a budget security system like this are not perfect but I think for the money you pay it is a decent system.
