This is not the first Reolink camera that we reviewed here at Securitybros, last year we tested the Reolink C1 Pro and one thing they all have in common is that they are really easy to set up.

Just download the Reolink app from App Store or from Google Play depending on what phone you are using. Turn on the camera and click the + button in the app, scan the QR code on the back of the camera and connect it to your WiFi and that’s it.

After you set up the camera in your phone you can download Reolink Client to view it on your PC and easily get more familiar with all the different settings.

To use the solar panel with Argus Pro you should find a good spot with some sunlight, mount the panel, connect the USB cable at the back of the camera and that’s it! Now you have a nonstop power supply and never have to remove the battery or camera for charging.

And don’t forget to cover the camera with the silicon cover when using the camera outdoors.

The image quality is good and should be sufficient in most situations. The ideal viewing distance is 2-10 meters and you should be able to do face recognition at that distance without a problem. Night time was decent as well and should work up to 9 meters.

Our conclusion:

Great compact wire-free security camera with good image quality that is very portable and versatile. Can be used both indoors and outdoors since it’s IP 65 weatherproof. Add the solar panel to the camera and it will always have power and there’s no need for removing the camera or battery for charging.

This camera is for anyone looking for a simple, affordable surveillance solution that doesn’t require 24/7 recordings. As long as you have a good WiFi signal, you can place Argus Pro anywhere very quickly and easily.
