So this is Ezviz’s latest Pan and Tilt IP camera in the C8 series. And this camera comes with some new features like auto-tracking and Preset points, they also changed the design compared to the older C8 cameras and here you can see the C8C, C8PF, and the C8W Pro 2k side by side.

The auto-tracking I think worked OK for a camera like this, it’s not really something I would use but the camera can Pan and Tilt when tracking, and when it’s done tracking it will go back to its home position. It can only track people so it won’t trigger when cars drive by. At night, however, the auto-tracking didn’t really work.

And the camera supports up to 12 preset points so you can quickly move the camera to a new position but it does not support patrol.

At daytime, I think the image quality was decent and you should be able to identify someone if they are not to far away from the camera. And by the way guys, the camera I got uses a 6mm lens so the field of view is kinda narrow for my area but I think they will also sell this camera with a 4mm lens if you need a more wide angle lens.

At night using infrared lights the image quality wasn’t the best especially when something is moving but When using the spotlights for full-color night vision you can see a little more details and I think it looked ok.

And this camera uses a 3mp sensor that records in 2304 by 1296 at 15fps and as I said before the camera I’m testing uses a 6mm lens but I think a 4mm version will also be available. The camera can Pan 352 degrees and Tilt 95 degrees. The camera uses smart detection which means it can tell the difference between a human and a vehicle based on the shape of the moving object.

And I think it worked OK, the camera didn’t have any problem telling the difference and I didn’t have any false alarms.

And when the camera detects motion it will send you an instant push notification to your phone through the Ezviz app and you can then view the recordings directly in the app from playbacks saved on the MicroSD card. You can have the camera record 24/7 or only when motion is detected. The camera supports up to 256GB SD card.

It also supports 2-way audio so you can talk and listen through the camera…If you want you can also use an alarm with a Siren and lights to scare away any intruders…

For night vision the camera uses both infrared lights and spotlights for full-color night vision. You have 3 different night vision modes, color night vision which means the lights will stay on all night, normal Infrared and smart night vision which means when the camera detects motion it will turn on the spotlights and record in full color.

You can adjust how long they should stay on and the brightness.

The C8W Pro 2k is weatherproof with an IP65 rating and I tested spraying some water on it for a while and it worked just fine after.

OK, so what we get in the box is, the camera, quick start guide, power adapter, weatherproof connector cover, drill template, and a bag with screws.

On the front of the camera, we have the lens, two spotlights, two infrared lights, indicator light, and under here we got the microphone and the speaker and under this cover, we got the SDcard slot and reset button which you can also access without having to open the cover.

By the way, this camera does not support ONVIF.

So connecting the camera to the ezviz app is really quick and easy. Download the app from either Google Play Store or app store depending on what device you are using. When you have the app opened, tap on the plus icon to add a new device, then the cameras scan the QR code on the camera and follow the onscreen instructions. And that’s it.
