Annke 5MP PTZ 20x Zoom WiFi IP Security Camera Review

Buy on Amazon or Aliexpress!

So when I opened the box and took out the camera for the first time I wasn’t that impressed since it has a very cheap feel to it, it’s hard to explain but the build quality doesn’t feel like high quality. However, once I started to use the camera I was really surprised at how good it was. It does come with quite a lot of features like for example 20x optical zoom, auto tracking, preset points, and patrol.

We can access all the camera settings through a web browser where we can adjust the pan and tilt speed, focus speed, and Zoom speed. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the live view to work, I tried 3 different browsers and followed the instructions but nothing worked. So I had to use my phone instead of the Annke App.

Now the most impressive with this camera I think is the image quality which is really good, especially in the daytime. And thanks to the optical zoom you can identify people up to 50 meters without a problem. Night time was OK as well but as with most cheaper security cameras when there is movement it gets hard to see any details. It can also record in full color at night using the built-in spotlights.

You can activate the motion tracking in the APP and by doing that the camera will automatically follow any human that walks in front of the camera. If there is more than one person in the picture the camera usually focuses on the first one until it loses the target and goes back to its home position. And it seems like the first preset point you set, is the home position. And I think the tracking worked decent for a camera in this price range.

So the camera uses a 5mp sensor that records in 2592 by 1944 and the highest I got was 16fps. It can Pan 355 degrees and Tilt 90 degrees and it has a 20x optical zoom. The camera supports ONVIF and I tested the camera using ONVIF device manager without any problems, so you should be able to use the camera with most brand NVRs or software that supports ONVIF.

With the Annke app, we can get instant push notifications when the camera detects motion which we can view directly in the app from playbacks saved on the MicroSD card. It supports up to 128GB CD card.

You will find most of the settings you need in the APP but to access all the camera settings we do need to access the camera’s web interface. To do that, just type your camera’s IP address in any browser and hit enter. The default username is Admin and the password is blank.

As I said at the beginning of the video I couldn’t get a picture so I had to use my phone when I for example set up the preset points. Ok, so here on the left side we have the PTZ controls where we can adjust the Pan, tilt, and zoom speed.

And in the PTZ function, we can set preset points and patrol.
